Blaenau Ffestiniog station on the Ffestiniog Railway, with a replica of a Lynton and Barnstaple engine. This is a modern replica of a locomotive from a railway that closed in 1935. Railways like the Ffestionig are now part of the 'heritage industry', and call into question our understanding of the origin and activities of historic industries. They may be interesting and fun, but how much resemblance do they have to their origins?
